Bonnie Rose Wainwright Kenniebrew, grand-daughter of Larson Sibling Felix Larson, passed away on November 6, 2020. Our condolences to the family, listed below.

Bonnie Rose (Wainwright) Kenniebrew, age 76, passed away Friday, November 06, 2020, at Hallmark Nursing Center in Pekin, IL.
Private family services will be held at this time. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am, Friday, November 13, 2020, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Waukegan First United Methodist Church. In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.
Bonnie was born in Port Byron, IL, to Virgil and Mabel Wainwright on October 3, 1944. Bonnie married Alonzo H. Kenniebrew in August 1985, in Peoria, IL. Bonnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waukegan, IL. Bonnie went to work as a paraprofessional within the Waukegan Public School System and served special education children for 15 years.
She taught her children that life was worth fighting for through every battle she overcame. Through breast cancer and a debilitating stroke, she never gave up. She learned to overcome her hardships and to appreciate all the blessings she was given. Through it all, she was an amazing mother and is now our angel. We will dearly miss you.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Kenniebrew; her parents, Virgil and Mabel Wainwright; sister-in-law, Alice Wainwright; and several aunts and uncles.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Blake DeArmond (Joi), daughter, Ashley Easterwood (Vincent);step-daughters Bridgid Ann Kenniebrew Steele (Orendeff), Karen Sue Kenniebrew Fayson; grandchildren, Kai Easterwood, Amanda DeArmond, Tiffany Marie Davis Gutierrez (Marvin), Bridgid Ryan Fayson Milenkovski (Andrew), Alexander Steele, Michael Fayson, Marie Steele, Matthew Fayson; sister, Kathy Rohrbaugh (Ralph); brother, Jim Wainwright (Pam); brother George Wainwright (Alice); many nieces and nephews; other family and dear friends.
| Jeanene Larson, wife of First Cousin Calvin Larson, passed away on March 24th. Our condolences to the family, listed below.
Jeanene was born June 5, 1932 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Hubert and Virlee (Grimes) Powell. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1951. She married Calvin Larson on November 10, 1957 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death in 1991. Jeanene stayed at home while raising their children. She then worked different jobs, including Commercial Towel, Canteen and cleaning homes and businesses. Jeanene was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Byron. In her younger years, she loved dancing with Cal. She cherished time with her family, enjoyed monthly card club get togethers, and listening to music. She was one of Elvis Presley’s biggest fans. Jeanene is survived by her children; Perry (Sandee) Larson, Irvine, CA, Guy Larson (Gerri Atkins), Moline, Connie Larson (Mike Lonergan), Cordova, Cindy (Bruce) Walker, Orion; grandchildren, Nicholas Walker, Nathan Walker, Brad (Brianne) Walker, Owen Larson, Emma Larson, Brittnie (Craig) McDowell, Callen (Andy) Sederquist, Calvin Larson, Kyra (Rob) Musik; great grandchildren, Jay Von and Jayce; and brother, Dick (Peggy) Powell, Tuscon, AZ. Carol Ann Wingo, Second Cousin, daughter of First Cousin Louise (Larson) and Bill Eastburg passed away June 2, 2019. Carol was born October 17, 1935 in Galesburg, IL. She married Donald E. Wingo on Jan 15, 1953 in Galesburg. Carol and Don (d: July 23, 2002) had four children, eleven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Carol had many jobs in Galesburg over the years and retired in 1995 after 18 years as a receptionist at the Galesburg Clinic. A funeral was held June 6th in Galesburg, with service officiated by her grandson, Pastor Andrew Wingo.

Joanne K. Cheramie, Second Cousin, daughter of First Cousin Max and Dorie Larson, died May 21, 2019 in Lebanon, Tennessee. A memorial service was held on May 28th in Hermitage, near Nashville, TN. She was born March 9, 1948 in Rock Island, Illinois.
Joanne was a talented artist, enjoyed the outdoors camping, kayaking and horse-back riding. She is survived by husband, Jimmy Cheramie, daughters Kimberly Poole and Jill Wingo, and brothers Jon and Jay Larson.

Mary Jo Shover, Second Cousin, daughter of First Cousin Violet Larson and Tyko Johnson, was born 10 May 1916 near Wataga, Illinois. Mary Jo died on Sunday, February 10 , 2019 at Oak Lane Nursing Home in Stronghurst, IL. A celebration of life will be held March 20th. Condolences to daughter Jody Ackman, 895 Township Rd.-1700E Stronghurst IL 61480 and Mary Jo’s sister Joy Bair, 726 Century Estates, Galesburg, IL 61401.

- Russell William Larson, born July 29, 1924, passed away November 25, 2015 in Dunlap, Illinois. Russell received an associate degree in engineering from Bradley University and was an engineer at Caterpillar for over 38 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Russell enjoyed his family, photography, woodworking, beginning the Larson family tree, and serving as secretary/recorder of Larson family reunions for many, many years. Russell is survived by his wife, Vonna Lou, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

- Verna Larson Johansen, born November 12, 1920, passed away March 13, 2016 in Galesburg. Verna had worked for Social Security, the IRS and the Department of the Army in Galesburg. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Verna is survived by children and grandchildren.

- “R.C”was born December 28, 1958 in Galesburg, Ill. He passed away October 18, 2016. R.C. worked for the City of Galesburg in the Water Department. He loved to hunt, fish, ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and raise German Shorthair Pointers. R.C. is survived by his parents, his siblings, by his wife, Alice, and children.

- Jerry was born August 11, 1947, in Galesburg, Ill. He passed away January 19, 2018. Jerry worked at Maytag for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, with the 1st Aviation Brigade as a door gunner on a helicopter. He enjoyed music, motorcycles and antique cars. Jerry is survived by his wife, Robin, one son Aaron (Jen) Eastburg of Galesburg and 4 grandchildren
- Carl Leroy “Lee” Johnson, spouse of Loretta Johnson.
- Lee passed away February 26, 2018 in Morrison, Colorado. He was born December 2, 1943 in Powell, Wyoming. His elementary and high school years were spent in Sheridan, Montana, where he learned rifle and hunting skills with his father. He attended Montana State U. in Bozeman and was drafted into the Army. With a background of hunting skill, he challenged his Army Commander, who then gave him KP duty for outshining the Commander. Lee served in Vietnam in 1965-66 with a River Assault Group, charging into the jungle as a sharpshooter. After returning from the Vietnam war – to Morton, Illinois – he attended Bradley College. Lee and Loretta met while she was working as a nurse in Peoria. After moving to Colorado they married at Rockland Community Church on Genesee Mountain, Golden, Colorado. Lee attended Colorado School of Mines in engineering and architectural design. He worked for Zimmerman Metals in Denver, where he did designing and estimating projects for steel construction at Denver International Airport, Coors Baseball Field, Denver Art Museum and other large projects in the Denver area and around the world. Lee is survived by Loretta, 3 children- Jacob Johnson, Cameo(Dustin) Williams, Josh (Terri)Johnson, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Lee was buried with military honors at Fort Logan National cemetery in Denver.
- Hazel L. Joseph passed away on January 25, 2022. Hazel was one of the Larson First Cousins who continued the Larson Family Reunion for over one hundred years. The former Hazel Lavon Larson was born May 9, 1925, in Cordova, Illinois, the daughter of Felix and Iva Mae (Case) Larson. She married William Joseph, who died in 1984. Hazel is survived by two sons, David Joseph of Tupelo, Mississippi and Jeffrey Joseph of Rock Island, and her sister, Elinor Griffin of Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and infant daughter, sisters Mable Wainwright, Margaret Larson, Helen Rebenar and Nellie Martins, and a brother, Calvin Larson. Jeanene O. Larson, 87, formerly of Port Byron, IL, died Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Due to the restrictions on social gatherings, services will be private. Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery, Port Byron. A public memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Port Byron. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron, is in charge of arrangements.
