News of our second, third and fourth cousins – schools, jobs, events
- Russell Larson always told us that we had relatives that moved to Colorado. Yes, we have Falline cousins that Loretta and Peggy have found. We meet for breakfast once or twice a year. It’s fun to imagine the covered wagon trip that Johanna’s relatives took WEST, leaving the area of Rio, Illinois. Don Falline says they still have the brass four-poster bed that came on the wagon from Illinois.

Who has had a DNA test out of curiosity?
- Any surprises of genes from countries where the Vikings and Gypsies roamed? I’ve learned from Swedish scholars that Gypsies roamed the country of Sweden in the 1800s, repairing anything iron. (tools, guns, knives, harnesses, kitchen pots) The villages loved having the Gypsies there to repair items and to sing and dance. So that’s where the other percentages come from !! 🙂
- Anyone have info they wouldn’t mind sharing?
- Well, I have my DNA to share, Larson Kin! I sent my saliva to “23 and Me”. Here are my results: Northwestern European: 94.6%. Eastern European: 4.2%. Broadly European 1.3%
- Breaking Down the Northwestern European a little more: Scandinavian: 76.7%. British & Irish: 5.3%. French & German. 4.6%. Finnish .5%. Broadly Northwestern European: 7.5%.
