Our ancestors, C W and Johanna came to America in search of a better life. They left large, supportive families behind, never to see them again. A letter took months to travel back and forth from one home in Sweden to the new home in America.
Johanna’s brothers came to Henry County, Illinois earlier in the 1800s. They were supportive to all of her family. C W lived only 8 years in America – from 1882 thru May of 1890 – not enough time to purchase any land while supporting 8 children.
In 1917 all Larson Siblings were married, with the exceptions of Julia and Albert. The booklet shows a mortuary portrait of Julia before her burial in 1890 and a photo of Albert and Clemmy, a girlfriend who was the nanny at brother Robert’s house.
The first C W Larson Reunion was held at the farm home of Robert, near Galesburg. The Larson Siblings had 26 children – the Larson First Cousins.
The Larson First Cousins had a total of 66 children – Larson Second Cousins. Those of us who are Second Cousins are fortunate to remember the Larson Siblings, the Larson First Cousins, and remember many, many reunions.
